App Reviews

You can choose to write a review of any of the following apps:

Pic Collage
iMotion HD
Scratch Jr

Make sure you answer the following questions:

What is the title of the app?
What does the app do and how could it be used in school?
What are the main features of the app – what works well and what doesn’t work so well?
Would you recommend it to friends or others in school? Why (not)?
Who is its target audience? What age of children would be able to use it?
Is there anything else important you would like to say about the app?

Digital Leaders Challenge #7

Hello again Manchester Digital Leaders.

I hope you are nearly prepared for your KidsMeet presentations, as we’re only a few days away!

This is your final Digital Leaders Challenge of the year.

We have talked quite a lot about evaluating things in our roles as Digital Leaders this year, and your final challenge is all about evaluating your own roles as Digital Leaders.

To complete the challenge, every single Digital Leader needs to post a response on the Digital Leaders blog to let us know how you have found the whole process of being a Digital Leader. You can tell us about all of the things you have worked on and your ideas for the future. You will also need to answer the following questions:

  • What have you enjoyed most about being a Digital Leader?
  • What skills do you think you have improved by becoming a Digital Leader?
  • What would you like to improve further in order to be an even better Digital Leader?
  • What have you found challenging about being a Digital Leader? What has been easy?
  • Are there any specific things you would like to do next year as Digital Leaders?
  • Please also feel free to share any other ideas, and ask questions in return if you would like to.

    You can begin your evaluations straight away, but please do not post them until after the KidsMeet, as you may wish to include some information about the event in your evaluations.

    You might choose just to type a blog post, but you might also want to upload a presentation, a Bitstrips for Schools submission, an audio file or anything else that you think will get your ideas across clearly.

    I look forward to seeing your responses!

    Mr. Mayoh.

    Digital Leaders Challenge #6

    Hello again Manchester Digital Leaders!

    It’s Challenge time again. This one, however, is really quite different.

    As you may remember from our earlier conversations, we will soon be holding a whole day KidsMeet event. KidsMeet Manchester 2015 will be held on Tuesday 14 July 2015.

    At the KidsMeet I will provide lots of challenges and other fun activities for you to work through in groups.

    In addition to these challenges, we would like every school to deliver one presentation to all of the other schools in the project. You will have access to a computer, big screen and projector, plus speakers if you require sound.

    Your presentation can be about anything at all to do with your roles as Digital Leaders. You might decide to present about:

  • some or all of the things you have done at school since becoming Digital Leaders;
  • a lesson that you supported that went particularly well;
  • a piece of hardware, software or app that you have used effectively in school;
  • top tips for other Digital Leaders to be successful;
  • your favourite free web tools and how you could use them in school.
  • This week’s challenge is to plan your presentation and to leave a comment on this post with your presentation title but no more information!

    Here are the rules:

  • Your presentation should last approximately 10 minutes;
  • Every member of your Digital Leaders team should play an active role in delivering the presentation;
  • You can use ANY method of presenting the information that you like. You may choose to use tools such as PowerPoint, Prezi, Keynote, ThingLink, Bitstrips, etc. to support the things that you say to the audience.
  • When you’re done, leave a comment on this blog post telling us what your presentation title is.

    I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

    Goodbye for now and good luck, from Mr. Mayoh and this excited young radio producer.
